Using a Workflow Template

Workflow templates can be used as shortcuts to building workflow definitions, saving you from having to create new workflows from scratch for similar workflows.

To build a workflow definition using a workflow template

1. From the menu bar, select File, point to New, point to From existing template, and select a workflow template.

   

   Note: If there are no workflow templates to choose from, build one.

2. The workflow template will open in the Designer Pane. Build a workflow definition using the template as a starting point.
3. When you are finished:
   
   
   • To convert the workflow template into an active workflow definition: Publish your changes as a workflow definition and assign it a starting rule. This will not modify the workflow template.
   • To modify the workflow template: Publish your changes as a workflow template.
